Pipin Ferreras

Francisco 'Pipin' Ferreras is a Cuban free-diver renowned for his achievements in deep freediving. From the late 1980s and onward he made a name for himself in the so-called "No-Limits"' discipline of freediving. Ferreras is the former world recorder-holder in no limits free diving with his 587 ft. plunge. Free diving is an extreme sport in which participants use a weighted sled to descend hundreds of feet under the sea after taking only a single breath of air, and then race to the surface attached to an inflated lift bag.

In 2004 Ferreras published a book, The Dive: A Story of Love and Obsession. Hollywood director and award-winning filmmaker James Cameron has purchased the rights to Ferreras’ life story, and will direct and produce the movie, “The Dive” starring Salma Hayek, for 20th Century Fox Studio.

Reactor plans to build an exciting new Pipin Ferreras Signature Collection. Scheduled for a Spring 2009 introduction, Reactor’s exclusive Pipin Ferreras Signature Watch Collection will initially be comprised of three distinctive styles including one model depth tested to 1,000M.
